6 books that I would recommend to read

When I was younger our teachers at school had given us a whole list of books for the summer that had to be read by the beginning of the school year.

I remember being angry because there was less time left to spend with friends. As a diligent student I tried to read as much as possible.

Now I look at everything differently. Books have become an integral part of my life.

Even after a hard day at work I try to read at least a few pages. It helps me to relax and to imagine myself as the main character for a second. I can always learn something new, which is useful for sure.

Here is the list of 6 books that I recommend reading during those cold winter nights.

Dan Millman "Way of the Peaceful Warrior"

Partly fictional, partly autobiographical, based on the early life of the author. The story tells about the meeting of a young gymnast Dan Millman and a gas station worker named Socrates, who becomes the athlete's spiritual teacher.  He helps Millman learn the true path to become a "peace warrior."

Paulo Coelho "The Alchemist"

The main character of the book is the shepherd Santiago from Andalusia. One day he has a dream that calls him to see the Egyptian pyramids and find the treasure hidden in them.  On a trip, he meets an Englishman, who reveals to him the knowledge in Alchemy, and then finds the Alchemist in the oasis El-Fayyum.

The Alchemist teaches him to cognize the "Soul of the World", talks about Alchemy and helps him to follow the path of His Destiny.  He falls in love with Fatima and eventually finds treasures, but not in Egypt, but in his homeland - in Spain, having passed all the trials that fate has in store for him.

Olga Primachenko "It is tender to myself"

Gentle to Myself is a new, very honest look at self-love, a meditation book that encourages inner conversation and helps you hear your own voice among many others.

Tina Seelig "What I Wish I Knew When I Was 20. A Crash Course on Making Your Place in the World"

A guide to doing business that has become an unconditional bestseller among young people.

Riley Sager "Lock every door"

Do not bring guests. Stay overnight only in apartments. Do not disturb other residents. Three simple rules Jules Larsen must follow when she's been hired to look after an apartment in Bartholomew, one of Manhattan's most mysterious buildings.

Stephen King “Later”

The main character of the book is a boy named Jamie Conklin, who has the supernatural ability to see dead people.  In particular, he has to fight an assassin who is already dead, but wants to strike a new blow at the living.  In parallel, Jamie fights inner demons and dramatically experiences his own growing up.
